Sessions
Transition to Work offer sessions in the following areas:

Work Skills sessions provide training in and development of generic work entry skills, required to attain employment, such as: workplace communication, computer skills, money management, time management, travel training, workplace presentation.

Work Placement (experience) takes place in a fully supervised, open employment setting, for the purpose of assessing the interests, skills and suitability of the individual to varying work environments and job types. Usually one day per week for one semester, gradually increasing the hours to suit your capabilities.

Independent Living Skill sessions cover a range of activities that may include, but is not limited to, assisting you to successfully balance work with day to day activities and personal interests. Such as: learners permit, recreational and leisure activities, healthy living which includes meal preparation, gym membership and multi media.

Specific Career Related training normally occurs once you have attained the generic skills required to enter the workforce. It may involve enrolment in accredited vocational training and paid work in an open employment setting or within an Australian Disability Enterprise. (Supported Employment) or voluntary work, where minimal onsite support is provided. It will include sessions on career options, interview preparation, job search skills.
All clients have the opportunity participate in accredited training including the chance to obtain their Certificate I in Transition Education (School to Work) through Castle's Registered Training Organisation as well as Certificate II in Retail and Certificate II in Asset Maintenance (Cleaning).
Castle also offer on site training to obtain your Senior First Aid Certificate, Responsible Service of Alcohol, Forklift Licence and O.H.S. Construction Card. Once you obtain your Learners Permit Castle will pay for your first ten driving lessons with our contracted Driving School Instructor.
